What's Happening at WMI?
We are incredibly proud to celebrate Samuel Nduwayezu, a WMI alumnus whose journey continues to inspire.
With support from the WMI community since 2020, Samuel earned his Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of Rwanda in 2024. Now, he’s taking the next bold step pursuing a Master’s in Public Health and Health Promotion at Swansea University in the UK, through the prestigious Chevening Scholarship.
Samuel’s story is a testament to the power of education, perseverance, and shared purpose. As Executive Director of the HEZA Initiative, he’s already creating meaningful change in his home country and this new chapter will only deepen his impact.
💬 In his own words:
"This achievement would not have been possible without your unwavering encouragement and investment in my education. I carry with me the values and lessons I gained during my time as a WMI scholar."
Samuel, we are honored to be a part of your journey. Your dedication to community health and youth empowerment exemplifies what it means to be educated locally, impacting globally. 🌍

🌍 #WMIGrantImpact | Community Development Spotlight 🌱
We’re thrilled to share an exciting update from one of our inspiring Alumnus and Community Development Grants recipient, James Gbeaduh in Liberia!
Thanks to the support of WMI's CDG program, his institution, People and Nature, has officially been recognized as a legal environmental organization in Liberia! They have also received Sectorial Clearance from the Environmental Protection Agency to operate within the environmental sector.
🎯 This milestone marks a huge step forward in their mission to combat biodiversity loss, address climate change, and build value across the waste management chain in local communities, demonstating the power of grassroots leadership in action. 💪🌱
