Across the globe, women’s advancement leads to positive outcomes for all. Studies show that educating women is the single most impactful development investment you can make, benefiting the individuals, their families, communities and country. Women’s advancement is a catalyst for social transformations with significant impact on health, economy, social justice and the environment of nations.

While studying in her home country of Malawi to become a nurse, Eluby Mwalwanda volunteers in a local clinic as a midwife. She provides care to antenatal and postnatal mothers, while offering some vital health education and support to them.

Liz Josiah, in addition to studying community development in Kenya, spends much of her time volunteering at children’s homes and shelters. She cooks for the children, spends quality time with them and shows them much-needed care and love.

Upon the completion of her medical degree Adama Fullah of Sierra Leone will be the only doctor in her cheifdom. She is also a women’s rights activist, with ongoing campaigns against female genital mutilation and advocating for girls’ right to education.
